Sunny Day

Yep we're having a crappy, snowy winter here in WI. But man it's a sunny day today. And I recall when we told some someone that we had 14 inches of snow a couple of weeks ago and she said, "You're so lucky!"

All depends on how you look at it, huh?

Well Happy New Years everybody and I hope to post some stuff soon. Soul Amp has been on another hiatus, but there are still a few tunes out there for me to mix and post and so I hope to have some of those up in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.

Peace and Hope... The Genius of America

I just happened to check out Bradly's old blog called "Where Are the Weapons" that expressed the outrage this artist/philosopher/thinker/friend felt about the Bush adminstration's antics.

The day after Obama won the election he posted this (Bradly, I hope you don't mind me repeating here...it just such a good read and the original is here: http://wherearetheweapons.blogspot.com/).

The Genius of America

Barack Obama wins!

Our long nightmare is almost over.

It was a historic and amazing night that showed clearly our shared humanity. For so long this nation has been mired by hate, greed and division. So much of this blog has highlighted over the years.

In recent months I stopped posting. I could not find the words anymore. The outrage was complete and I felt that nothing would ever change and this nation was doomed.

I am glad to say that I am wrong. We do have much to hope for, the future being the most important challenge we face. It is now our task to set this nation on a path that leads to a peaceful, clean future for generations to come.

It is our time to lead, not to take. It is our time to give ourselves to our brother's and sisters and help set right what has long been plaguing us and keeping us from realizing our full potential.
As I watched the story unfold last night I can say it was the single most moving experience, second only to the birth of my daughter. We as a nation finally stood together in love and peace and looked forward into the future with warm hearts.

Below is a bit of music I put together a few days a ago that presents a coda on "Where Are The Weapons".

Peace and love

Bradly

Oh and here's a song/video Bradly composed and performed. You need to check it out (not just because my pics on in the video):

Thank you Bradly for the words and the music!!!! It made my evening,

Lake Michigan Sunrise Wrecked Sailboat Photos....Comments from Owner of Falcon Chinook 34 that wrecked in 2007...He has sent pics...

Pavel Bernek, owner of the Chinook 34 sailboat that was wrecked along the shores of Lake Michigan just north of Milwaukee in autumn of 2007, sent me the following comments:

"Hi I soo glad I read comment from Bob (the original owner of the Falcon). Thank You for this boat. I'M guy who's wrecked this beauty. Pavel Beranek, last owner. I had big plans with Her, unfortunately My stupidity send her to wreckage. My dreams still alive, but not on this excellent boat. If you interested some pictures you can found on My WWW but is in foreign language. Is under post. http://saltydog.blog.cz/0806/ta-moje-prvni-laska-cast-3 And is there 2 more parts of this . Thank You Pavel"

So here's the sites he's referring to with pics of the Falcon being refurbished before her final voyage. A lot of work went into her as you can see:

Shadow People Music - M2's Other, Other band!

Hey check it out. M2's in another band.... Don't worry, he's still a Soul Amper.

Here's what he says:

Hey Cool Cats...I got picked up by a goth rock band last week. They recently went through some personnel changes, and are rearranging most of their material..all original.gothic,ethereal,primal,progressive..This opens up a whole new avenue of creativity for me.I've started a blog page in lieu of a website for now.On it,there is a link to the myspace site with some older music samples. As things progress,we'll revamp the whole dang thing..I can possibly see some talent sharing between our two bands in the future.Kurt is a great bass player, and Kim's voice..in person..friggin' awesome.I shiver with glee at the thought of the next bonfire jam!

So check it out!!!! Here's the site:

Autumn Collage - Psychedelic Autumn Tree and Leaf Photo Collage - Massive Photo Collage - New Weird Strat, Piano, B3 InstruRock Tune from Soul Amp

Here's an pschedelic autumn photo collage for all of you. I know I said I may never do it again because it's time consuming, but I worked little by little on it over a long while. It has over 200 photos (most of which have been or will be posted on this blog). So it's a massive photo collage of mostly fall leaves and autumn scens. Be sure to open the bigger version if you're into this kind of thing. Zoom in and find all the little treasures and oddities. It's pretty weird and so is this new, never before released tune from one of our practices (more stuff made up on the spot). Please listen at least through the first 3 minutes. It starts slow as we figure out what it means and then explodes at the end. Its got strat guitar, booming drums, piano and some B3 organ in the middle section. Check it out:

End of Summers (free mp3 tune)

I hope you dig it all and have an amazing weekend.

My weezing sounds like a distant siren

I've tricked myself into thinking I'm hearing a siren in the distance.

It's just my weezing from the stupid cold that won't go away. 6 weeks now. I've had it since I broke my arm.

Man, it's getting old.

Anyhow, have a great weekend all!

Enjoy the music and the pics.

Bye for now.

Well, while you're looking at the pics, here's a mellow autumn rain instrumental tune for free download:
