Lovely Sea Monster in an Underwater Automobile Graveyard

Here's the next tune (click the link below the picture) from the House of Guiness in May 2008.... it's another strange one... Enjoy.

It was M2's death metal percussion that melted into something else.... strange, strange, strange.... don't do drugs... just listen to this tune.

Here's a link to a bigger copy of the above picture:

Ten Dollar Bill Song, Strange Picture of Trash, Money,Smiling Faces, $$$$ Image... Rock n Roll weirdness...Live at the House of Guinness, Waukesha, WI

Strange pic of Ten Dollar bill being pulled from a trash can surrounded by smiling cartoon faces. So called "Art" by Mike Fisk

Ten Dollar Bill

This is the 2nd to last tune we did at House of Guinness. It's a cover of ourselves (unlike most of the other tunes, we didn't make this one up on the spot even though we weren't sure how to play it). You can find the the original version in this post:

....sh*t, that was 3 years ago... time sure the hell flies...

Tornado Warning Sirens - Audio Recording, Milwaukee, WI, June 2006, pics of Greenfield Park siren.. spooky sounds of thunder and sirens

Photo of Tornado/Warning Siren in West Allis (Milwaukee), WI, June 2008. Photo by Mike Fisk

soul-amp.com
Here's an audio recording taken in West Allis, WI (suburb of Milwaukee) of the tornado warning sirens before the torrential rains hit on June 7, 2008 (it's pretty haunting and spooky):

I dig the person screaming at the start of it and the way the different sirens blend in with the constant rumble of the thunder. There is beauty in the terribleness of nature. Also, the birds keep chirping throughout.

Here's photos of one of the warning sirens. It's over in Greenfield Park in West Allis, just a mile or two North of my house.

Terrace under water photo.... Photo of Park Place Pond flood, Milwaukee, WI June 2008

Here's another pic of the Park Place Pond flood. This is terrace/patio thing that they have next to the pond. It's nice, but is usually full of goose crap. Unfortunately, the bricks have started to buckle since the flood receded.

Pictures of Flooded Park Benches...Romantic place to sit..take your date on a swampy picnic...adds to Mississippi flood? subcontinental dvide?

Photos of Park Place Pond Benches, flood of June 2008, Milwaukee WI, 2008. Pics by Mike Fisk

soul-amp.com

The Park Place pond was a good 2 to 3 feet or so higher than normal. It took about 3 or 4 days for it get back down to normal levels. I believe the water on this side of the subcontental divide flows to the Mississippi rather than the Milwaukee River, but I really don't know. It probably flows into the Fox river and from there ultimately all the way to New Orleans. Click here for an interesting article on the subcontinental divide. And here's a map of the subcontinental divide.

Strange Flashlight Umbrellas photo - Last Song Last Gig - InstruRock - Flashlight PhotoArt Constellation Collage - Crazy Tune - Floating Umbrellas

Docious, floating umbrellas flashlight photo collage. By Mike Fisk

soul-amp.com
Here ya go at last. A new Soul Amp tune:

This is the last jam of the last set we did at the House of Guinness in May of 2008. It was recorded using the Zoom H4 on a tripod as per the usual. One difference is that we ran the keys through a new amp and into the PA and so the keys are a bit more stereo this time as opposed to previous HOG gigs.

It's InstruRock....

The picture is a clue to the name of the song.

Click here for a bigger copy of the picture if you like.

Root River Flooding June 7, 2008 West Allis, WI....June flooding in Milwaukee County

Strange that my last post was of the Root River flooding in April. But this flood beats that hands down. The parkway became a river for a short while. Glad to say that it's finally back to normal. All of us in Wisconsin are hoping this break from the rain lasts. Check out the folks in their waders.

Here's some pics I took of the Root River flooding in West Allis, WI in April of 2008. It's usually a tiny creek of 3 to 5 feet wide. That night it was a raging torrent (well relatively speaking). The snow had just melted and the ground was still frozen and was not absorbing much water. In parts of the river that got dammed up with debris, it had become a small lake.

Time to see how Bradly's brain works. Below are the lyrics for Ice Beneath the Snow that he was reading while he was singing the song. So listen to the song here:

Ice Beneath the Snow

While reading his lyrics... just odd how what he sings fits perfectly and the lyrics don't necessarily match... not sure how he does that.

You can also watch the video of him doing it here:

umbut - to doubt - a term to express doubt when talking about designs of an engineering nature

I had this weird dream last night that I was an electrical engineer for some mining company... actually in my dream I was a consultant for the company....but no matter. So I'm sitting around this table at a restaurant with other engineers and everytime someone has an idea about something, this one guy across the table from me says.... "ummmmm but" and then gives a reason why he doesn't think it won't work. Then this waiter comes over and he says to him that we're discussing the "umbuts" meaning the doubts about the design. It just stuck with me. So now I'll introduce this new term to the world... (unless somebody else already made it up).... welcome to "umbut".

So....

Umbut, I think that term may already have been used somewhere dude.

Ok, bye for now.
